Mike is a long-standing company director, NED and coach to C-Suite executives and teams. He brings to bear his practical experience of working with executive teams and boards, with a deep understanding of human nature. He describes his work as being able to get the ‘right conversation in the room at the right time’.
He works internationally with teams and leaders from the public, private and third sector. His work with outstanding leaders in a rapidly changing context has shaped his thinking about how leaders must shift how they think about what they do and is co-author of the book ‘Network Leadership: Navigating and Shaping our Interconnected World’, published by Routledge in 2023.
Since 1989 he has been managing director of PSA Training and Development and in 2019 he became managing partner at Gadhia Consultants. He has worked with Virgin Money, De Beers Diamonds, Starbucks, Total Exploration and Production, EDF and the Development Bank of Ghana. He has worked extensively in West and Sub-Saharan Africa.
In 2021 he was a member of the Royal United Services Institute team that published the paper ‘The UK’s Response to Cyber Fraud: A Strategic Vision’ that identified fraud as the most common crime type that affects all UK citizens and called for a Home Office led and coordinated strategy to fight cyber enabled crime.
He is a Chair and non-executive director of Airbox Systems providing mission support, situational awareness, location tracking and control to UK Armed Forces, Emergency Services and Policing; and non-executive director of Lumus360 ™ an organisation that provides online 360-degree feedback and psychometrics.
He is a Trustee of the Armed Forces charity Hire a Hero; Chair of the trauma recovery charity the SAFE Foundation; and founding Trustee of the Virgin Money Foundation. He is a member of the Advisory Board to Kina a firm providing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) consultancy to businesses across Africa; he is an advisor to TriploESG a specialist ESG audit firm. He is a Visiting Fellow at the Business School of the University of South Wales. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Royal United Services Institute. He has lectured at the MoD’s Defence Academy, Shrivenham.
